Es ermöglicht eine realistische Soundausgabe, bei der die Geräusche z.B. automatisch korrekt auf die entsprechenden Lautsprecher eines 5.1-Systems verteilt werden.<br /> <br /> ==EAX unter Windows Vista==<br /> <br /> In [[Windows Vista]] ist die Direct3D Schnittstelle von [[DirectX]], auf die EAX aufsetzt, abgeschafft worden. Da AoD nur EAX benutzten kann - wenn man AoD installiert, wird auch gleichzeitig EAX mit installiert - funktioniert dieses nicht mehr.<br /> <br /> Creative hat ein Projekt gegründet, welches ein Programm namens [[ALchemy]] entwickelt, das die Ausgabe vom EAX statt an Direct3D an [[OpenAL]] weiterleitet.
